Hello! I'm Arvel.

My name is Arvel Albright Peyoh, I'm 19 years old, and I currently reside in Bandung. I'm pursuing my passion for technology as a student at Universitas Advent Indonesia, majoring in Informatics Engineering. Like many others, my world shifted significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Confined mostly indoors, the familiar glow of my somewhat slow laptop screen became more than just a portal for online classes or entertainment; it transformed into a vast, digital landscape ripe for exploration.

Starting around the age of sixteen, simple curiosity quickly blossomed into a full-fledged fascination with technology. The Windows 10 operating system, which I had previously taken somewhat for granted, revealed itself as a complex and endlessly configurable environment. I wasn't just using the computer; I felt like I was interacting with it. I recall spending hours delving into the Control Panel, tweaking settings I barely understood, cautiously navigating the Registry Editor (often learning the hard way about backups!), and experimenting with command prompt lines gleaned from online forums, always hoping it might optimize performance and make my laptop run just a bit better. Each successful tweak, each solved problem, felt like a small victory, fueling my desire to learn more and push further.

Paradoxically, the isolation of the pandemic opened up new avenues for connection – primarily with the digital world and online communities of fellow tech enthusiasts. I learned about hardware components by watching teardown videos, explored diverse software applications beyond the standard suite, and even tentatively dipped my toes into the basics of coding with Python. Windows 10 served as my personal sandbox, my digital laboratory. It was within this environment that I truly learned the importance of troubleshooting, the patience required to diagnose an issue, and the immense satisfaction that comes from finding a solution independently. This period of intense exploration also sparked a keen interest in graphic design.

Key Interests & Skills

This period of self-directed learning sparked interests and helped me develop skills in:

  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving
  • Windows OS Customization
  • Python Programming (Basics)
  • Graphic Design
  • 3D Rendering

Beyond the acquisition of technical skills, this journey of exploration taught me resilience and underscored the value of self-directed learning. It vividly demonstrated that even within the confines of my room, a universe of knowledge was accessible through that glowing screen. Today, while my activities have expanded beyond simply tinkering with OS settings, that foundational experience with Windows 10 remains a core part of my background. It continues to shape my approach to technology and fuels my ongoing passion for creative fields like 3D rendering and graphic design. It was, in essence, a unique time that transformed my computer from a mere tool into a compelling canvas for discovery and learning.
